Implicit Order + Flowing rather than Forcing

I’ve been contemplating this line from the I Ching lately.

The I Ching reminds me that order doesn’t need to be imposed. Even in difficulty, even in the messy middle, something is already forming. Quietly. Beneath the surface.

Some days feel dense. Not exactly stuck, just layered. When that happens, I notice it in my body, a quiet holding, an achy back, a wish for things to be clearer than they are.

This is when ritual acts as one of my allies. Not something elaborate. It’s small and ordinary. Before my first patient arrives, I pause with my feet on the floor and take one breath as it is. I don’t try to settle or improve it. That moment helps me locate myself inside the day, even when the day feels full.

When things feel tangled, I’ve been practicing staying close rather than moving away. Listening the way I listen during a treatment, without urgency, without asking for resolution. Letting the moment have the shape it already has. Often, something shifts on its own. Not into clarity, but into a sense of timing. A quiet knowing of when to move and when not to.

This is how action becomes ritual for me. A dance of Yin and Yang.  Habitual gestures like washing my hands, drinking tea, pausing before I speak, become places of return. Not moments to fix anything. Just moments to inhabit.

If you find yourself there too, you might choose one small action in your day and let it be simple. Let it be enough.

Something is already taking shape.
